Community Guidelines

Last Updated: October 2nd, 2025

At WakaMi, our mission is to make everyday life easier by connecting people who need errands done with trusted Runners who can help. To keep our community safe, respectful, and reliable, we've created these Community Guidelines.

By using WakaMi, you agree to follow these rules.

1. Be Respectful

  1. Treat everyone with courtesy — whether you’re a Requester or a Runner.
  2. No harassment, abuse, threats, or discriminatory language.
  3. Respect people’s privacy. Do not share personal information beyond what is necessary for completing a task.

2. Safety First

  1. Only post errands that are lawful, safe, and reasonable.
  2. Do not request or transport illegal, restricted, or hazardous items.
  3. Follow health and safety measures during deliveries (e.g., hygiene when handling food or pharmacy items).

3. Trust & Verification

  1. Runners must complete KYC verification and biometric authentication before accepting tasks.
  2. Requesters must provide accurate information about errands.
  3. Misrepresentation or falsifying details may lead to account suspension.

4. Reliability Matters

  1. Requesters: Fund your wallet before posting a task, and confirm completion promptly.
  2. Runners: Accept only errands you can complete, and deliver on time.
  3. Communicate clearly if delays or issues arise.

5. Payments & Escrow

  1. All payments must go through the WakaMi platform.
  2. Do not attempt to bypass escrow or request direct payments.
  3. Requesters’ money is only released to Runners once a task is confirmed complete.

6. Ratings & Feedback

  1. Use ratings and reviews to share honest, constructive feedback.
  2. Do not abuse the review system with fake, retaliatory, or misleading feedback.
  3. Consistently low ratings may affect your ability to use WakaMi.

7. Diaspora & Inter-City Use

  1. If you are abroad, you may send errands to your loved ones in Nigeria.
  2. For inter-city errands, ensure the task details are accurate and realistic.
  3. Runners must handle items responsibly across longer distances.

8. Prohibited Behavior

  1. Posting or completing illegal or fraudulent tasks.
  2. Attempting to scam or exploit other users.
  3. Spamming, advertising, or using WakaMi for purposes outside errand services.
  4. Tampering with GPS tracking, payment flows, or WakaMi’s systems.

9. Enforcement

  1. Breaking these guidelines may result in warnings, task cancellations, account suspension, or permanent removal from WakaMi.
  2. Serious violations may be reported to law enforcement.

10. Help Us Build a Better Community

  1. Report inappropriate behavior, unsafe tasks, or suspicious activity through the in-app help center or by emailing support@wakamiapp.com.
  2. We take reports seriously and investigate promptly.

Our Commitment

WakaMi is built on trust. By following these Community Guidelines, you help ensure that errands are completed safely, fairly, and respectfully — for everyone.
